Magnetic Properties of HTSC with a Weak Interlayer Coupling
نویسنده
چکیده
Magnetic properties of layered high temperature superconductors with a weak interlayer coupling in the region of the critical fluctuations are investigated in the framework of the Ginzburg–Landau approach. The sample magnetization is calculated within a perturbative approach to the second order in the interlayer coupling constant. The first order correction can be incorporated into the non-interacting expression for the magnetization with the corresponding shift of the critical temperature. Only the second order contribution modifies the thermodynamics, leading to violation of the one-parameter 2D scaling low and to disappearance of the magnetization crossing point.

Neutron scattering is proved to be a vital probe in unveiling the magnetic properties of high temperature superconductors (HTSC). Detailed information about the energy and momentum dependence of the magnetic dynamics of HTSC have been obtained directly by this technique. Over the past decade by improving the crystal growth methods, large and high quality single crystals of HTSC, which are ess...
متن کاملAnomalous Fluxon Properties of Layered Superconductors
Highly anisotropic layered superconductors can be considered as stacks of Josephson junctions (SJJ’s) [1, 2]. The key feature of SJJ’s is mutual coupling of junctions, which can be achieved via magnetic [3, 4], charging [5, 6] or nonequilibrium [7] coupling mechanisms. Properties of SJJ’s can be qualitatively different from that of single Josephson junctions (JJ’s) or anisotropic type-II superc...
متن کاملDirect measurement of the interlayer coupling strength in a layered superconductor
We have imaged the magnetic fields at the edges of the conducting planes of a single crystal of the layered organic superconductor κ-(BEDTTTF)2Cu(NCS)2. The spatial dependence of these fields agrees well with a Josephson-coupled layer model with some inhomogeneity in the interlayer coupling, providing a direct measurement of the interlayer coupling strength. This coupling is sufficiently weak a...
متن کاملInterlayer coupling in EuS/SrS, EuS/PbSe and EuS/PbTe magnetic semiconductor superlattices.
Neutron reflectivity studies of EuS/SrS, EuS/PbSe and EuS/PbTe all-semiconductor superlattices were carried out in a search for exchange interlayer coupling. A relatively weak antiferromagnetic coupling was found in EuS/SrS and EuS/PbSe systems but no interlayer coupling was detected in EuS/PbTe superlattices. In EuS/SrS, where the SrS spacer is an insulator (E(g)≈4 eV), a very weak and short r...
متن کاملEvolution of magnetic domain reversal with temperature in Co ÕPt multilayers observed by magneto-optical Kerr imaging
The evolution of magnetic domain structures with temperature during magnetic reversal in Co 4 Å /Pt tPt multilayers with perpendicular anisotropy has been investigated using magneto-optical Kerr imaging. Relatively large Pt layer thicknesses tPt=43 and 63 Å are chosen for this study because the interlayer coupling strength in the multilayers varies from weak at room temperature to strong at low...
